Brad Pitt reportedly uses this unexpected move when flirting

Updated

Should we all start calling Brad Pitt by his "Christian name" now?

According to Page Six, the movie star was overheard flirting with a Kate Bosworth look-alike at Coffee Commissary in Los Angeles recently when he caught her by surprise by introducing himself as William.

Pitt, whose birth name is William Bradley Pitt, "arrived by motorcycle, wearing sunglasses, jeans and a leather jacket" before striking up a conversation with a blonde woman in line.

"She was acting overly bubbly and looked a little like Kate Bosworth, but it wasn't her," a spy told Page Six. When she introduced herself as Lydia, he "putt out his hand and said, 'Hi, I'm William.' She replied, 'Oh, you look like a Bradley.' And he responded, 'Well, that's my middle name' and smiled and winked at her."

But wait -- there's more! As the pair left the coffee shop, the woman said, "'Nice to meet you, Bradley ... I mean, William!' He laughed to himself, then got on his bike."

The piece of gossip comes after People reported last month that Pitt was "casually dating" but hadn't found anything serious yet. Of course, the actor famously split from wife Angelina Jolie in the fall of 2016.

"In a sense, this split was good for Brad because he sized himself up and realized there had to be changes," a source told People in December. "Brad and Angie are doing OK, working out time for him to be with the kids which he treasures."

Didn't realize that Brad Pitt wasn't the actor's real name? There are a ton of other celebrities who altered or completely changed their names when they went into show business. Check them out in the gallery below.
