"Shocking," he wrote. "Once again, here are the @Twitter 'suggestions' of who I should follow. #DeepState"
The "Deep State" is a conspiracy theory that refers to "a body of people, typically influential members of government agencies or the military, believed to be involved in the secret manipulation or control of government policy," Google notes. As Entertainment Weekly reports, the theory gained steam during the 2016 election as one of its believers, Steve Bannon, commonly referred to it.
Of course, DeGeneres isn't involved in the United States government, so many Twitter users were left scratching their heads by the seemingly random claims being made by Trump.
Hi Eric, I know you’re not the smart one, but Twitter’s algorithm looks at who you searched for most recently when making suggestions. It looks like you might have recently searched for a Democrat, buddy.
Are you really that stupid? When you and your family continually mention Hillary and Obama in your tweets, of course you'll get suggestions to follow them. As for Ellen, I'm pretty sure Twitter knows you're gay.
So... you think the “deep state” makes these recommendations? You think FBI and CIA agents are responsible for twitter’s suggestion that you follow certain people on twitter? You should focus more on “deep paranoia”
