Gigi Hadid accused of racism after footage surfaces of her allegedly 'mocking Asians people'

The footage, which can be seen in the video above, was posted by her younger sister, Bella, over the weekend, but she has since deleted it.

Fans almost immediately took to Twitter and the comments section after the video was posted to call Hadid out for what they perceived as racial insensitivity.

As Us Weekly pointed out, fans were especially shocked by the footage given that Hadid's boyfriend, Zayn Malik, is part Asian and her Palestinian-American father, Mohamed Hadid, is Middle Eastern.

The minor controversy comes after a month of relative social media silence from the 21-year-old model, who had previously vowed to take a slight break from posting to her accounts. Though she has posted a couple of times over the past few weeks, she has been notably more quiet on social media as she continues to enjoy living in NYC.

She has yet to publicly comment on the reaction to the video, though Malik did tweet an apparent response to the uproar.

"People's nerve to call me ignorant, when any change they get I'm a terrorist," he tweeted. "To be racists goes against my very existence..."

"So please don't try to educate me," he followed up.
