WATCH: Sean Spicer holds daily White House press briefing

Update: This event has ended

White House press secretary Sean Spicer is set to address the press corps on Thursday, one day after Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

News broke on Thursday afternoon that the United States dropped a massive GBU-43 bomb, also known as the "mother of all bombs," in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday against a series of caves used by Islamic State militants, the military said. Spicer will likely address this in the press briefing.

This week has been one centered around Trump's relationships with other prominent world leaders, and the president addressed foreign policy relations yesterday in a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

In response to talk of eroding trust between the U.S. and Russia, Trump tweeted a message of reassurance on Thursday, saying "things will work out fine" between the two countries.
