Kim Kardashian's Met Gala looks from over the years

Updated

Kim Kardashian's Met Gala 2018 look was one for the books. The custom gold shimmering gown created by Atelier Versace was adorned with two crosses to fit the "Heavenly Bodies" theme and hugged every curve. She looked stunning—like a gold statue straight out of the museum.

But Kim Kardashian's Met Gala looks haven't always been, well, on point. In fact, out of the six times she's been to the Met Gala, there were a few that she seemed to completely disregard the theme, ending up on worst dressed lists.

She made her Met Gala debut back in 2013, somewhat infamously. Pregnant with her daughter North West, she wore a skintight custom Givenchy floral gown complete with matching gloves and a high leg slit. It was polarizing and even became an internet meme. Kim didn't care though, reportedly telling Channel 9 the next year, "I thought it was so cool. It got a lot of criticism and I didn't care because I really loved it."

Her 2015 Roberto Cavalli gown was a gorgeous form fitting beaded gown with white feathers sewn onto the train. Kim told E! News that it was "one of my fave dresses ever." Although, this dress still came with a bit of controversy, as some accused her or ripping off Beyoncé's look from a few years prior. (Girl can't catch a break!)

Then in 2017, Kim blew it out of the water wearing a long-sleeved silver beaded Balmain gown, which she wore with her hair slicked back and golden contacts. Her husband Kanye West made more headlines, however, for wearing ripped jeans with a white t-shirt and coordinating beaded jacket, as well as blue (read: kind of creepy) contacts.
