Everyone has mixed feelings about Duchess Kate's dress for Pippa Middleton's wedding

Updated

After much anticipation, Pippa Middleton and James Matthews finally tied the knot on Saturday. Though all eyes were on the gorgeous bride in her Giles Deacon gown (and okay, on the adorable Prince George and Princess Charlotte, too), everyone was inevitably also going to talk about Duchess Kate's look. After all, Pippa was the talk of William and Kate's wedding back in 2011.

See Kate and Pippa on the big day:

The royal mom ended up stepping out in a pale pink Alexander McQueen dress and a matching fascinator -- and people have mixed feelings about it. Though essentially everyone agrees she looked radiant regardless (when does she not, really?), some people are not huge fans of the "matronly" vibe and the slightly dull color. Others are simply calling it a "beautiful dress." While we may have hoped for something a bit more vibrant and youthful, we're not going to sit here and pretend that Kate can't pull anything and everything off.

Now, it's possible that the Duchess of Cambridge opted for an understated look as to not upstage her sister. With that said, Kate was right by Pippa's side throughout the whole affair, despite people assuming she'd stay on the sidelines. She even had the challenging task of keeping all the little ones quiet as the ceremony began.

One topic that may be stealing some attention is the Meghan Markle mystery. Everyone's wondering why Prince Harry's girlfriend was nowhere to be found at the morning ceremony. Weeks ago, rumor had it that Pippa had altered her "no ring, no bring" policy, thus allowing the "Suits" actress to attend both the ceremony and reception. Only time will tell if she'll join Prince Harry at the reception on Saturday night.
