Duchess Kate attended Pippa's bachelorette party the same weekend Prince William partied in Switzerland

Kate Middleton wasn't home with Prince George and Princess Charlotte after all -- she was skiing in France!

It was a right royal scandal a few weeks ago when Prince William missed one of the more important events of the year -- a Commonwealth Day service attended by every other senior member of the royal family -- because he'd been away for the weekend partying in Switzerland with friends.

Many speculated that Kate missed the day's events as well because she was home with Prince George and Princess Charlotte (and that she was none too pleased with William's antics) but turns out that's not the full story. Kate was with her sister Pippa that weekend, also on a ski trip ... but in France!

That's right: It was time for Pippa's super exclusive, very private bachelorette party (or "hen party" as it's called in the UK). So how does one throw a royal bachelorette party? A friend told The Sun "They stayed in a really exclusive catered chalet with maids and chef, who ensured that they were totally spoilt."

And to spoil them even more, the hosts reportedly showered the royal party with gifts, with the friend continuing: "They were given Swatch watches, Ugg slippers, leather-bound notebooks and bespoke fragrances."

So not only is a royal bachelorette party filled with fluffy slippers and a journal in which to write their deepest thoughts -- or favorite Pippa stories -- but it's also one thing that William's weekend was not: A whole lot more secluded. There were photos of the sisters skiing, but no partying snaps like poor Wills had to grapple with. Although we picture Pippa and Kate sipping hot toddies by the fireplace much more so than out on the town a la their twenties (as seen in the photos above!), we'd honestly be thrilled to see Kate's Mom Dancing counterpart to William's moves.
