Starbucks to release colorful spring cups

If you're being hit by the northeast snowstorm Friday, you're going to welcome this news with open arms. Wait for it ...

In a first-ever move for the brand, Starbucks is releasing ...

SPRING CUPS!

That's right, just as you were starting to come to terms with the fact that you were stuck with the typical white and green cups until new holiday cups debut again in November (though the chain is -- less famously -- known for having summer and fall cups, too), Starbucks rips the rug out from under you. But, hey, we are not complaining.

As the massively popular coffee chain puts it, "After the gray days of winter, there's nothing quite like those first few bursts of color that indicate the arrival of springtime (which officially arrives March 20)."

The hot drink cups come in three "cheerful" pastel colors: turquoise, yellow and light green. They feature "white dots and hand-drawn designs including a sun and umbrella" -- and seemingly also invite customers to create doodles of their own (much like the company did for last season's holiday cups).

Check them out in all their adorable glory:

The cups will be available beginning March 16 -- and they'll only stick around for a limited time, so be as quick as a bunny!
