Starbucks unveils brand-new red holiday cups -- and there's more than one

Updated

Last year, Starbucks stirred controversy with its rather plain red holidays cups.

Remember?

Not to mention that people also panicked in recent weeks, assuming that the coffee chain's green cups (meant to "celebrate community") were this year's holiday cups.

All of that confusion was cleared up Wednesday, though, when the company revealed that it went in a completely different direction this year. Instead of one red cup design, Starbucks unveiled 13 -- so there's truly something for everyone.

Get a good look at all of them right here:

As Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz put it, "This year, [...] we decided to do something quite different. With everything that's going on in the world, and everything that's going on in our country, we have a lot to be thankful for."

The 13 different designs come from women from six countries around the world.

"The women represent various American cities as well as Indonesia, Dubai, Canada, Russia and South Korea," Mashable reports.

Basically, because last year's cup left a lot to be desired, holiday aficionados took to Instagram to share their design dreams -- and thus, this year's cups were born!

And if you're one of those people who drinks iced drinks throughout fall and winter (we get it), prepare to be extra excited.

We'll let this photo speak for itself:
