Emerging travel trends are driving travelers to Desire Resorts in Mexico

Updated

If you haven't already booked your first travel experience of 2019 now is the time. According to experts, travel is expected to increase this year and many of the biggest trends have already steered travelers to locations all around the world.

While the biggest fads in the tourism industry such as the rise in spontaneous traveling to scheduling trips during the off-season may not surprise you, there are a few unlikely emerging trends that are influencing travel, too.

Desire, a couples only all-inclusive accommodation group in Cancun, Mexico, recently experienced occupancy growth at two of its resorts due to three growing trends analysts predict will take over the tourism industry.

“We have experienced a rise in occupancy rates at both Desire Riviera Maya Resort and Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort and are confident this success will continue throughout 2019, as like-minded couples seek out a safe, judgement-free atmosphere to explore their fantasies and engage in new exciting activities with other likeminded travelers,” said Rodrigo de la Peña, CEO of Original Group.

The increase in popularity of adults-only hotels, travel-experience curation by experts and taking a virgin traveler abroad, were all the trends that boosted Desire Riviera Maya Resort’s average occupancy rate from nearly 80 percent in 2016 to 86 percent in 2018 and Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort’s average occupancy rate from from 76 percent in 2016 to more than to 83 percent in 2018.

As these trends make waves in the travel world, the resort hopes it will continue to drive tourists to Mexico.
