Nicole Kidman issues rare update on kids with Tom Cruise: What are Isabella and Connor up to?

Updated

Nicole Kidman gave a slight glimpse into the lives of her children with Tom Cruise in a new interview with Vanity Fair.

The "Big Little Lies" actress, who covers the publication's latest issue, revealed that her son, Connor, 24, lives in Miami and works in music, while Isabella, 26, is married and lives in England.

"Bella lives just outside London," Kidman said of her daughter, who recently launched a T-shirt line called BKC (Bella Kidman Cruise). "You know, she really feels more English. We lived there for 'Eyes Wide Shut,' 'Mission Impossible,' and 'The Portrait of a Lady.' They both had English accents when they were little."

Both children are reportedly Scientologists like their movie star father, with Bella recently appearing in a Scientology promo video detailing the experience of becoming an auditor. Kidman's update follows a Radar Online report from earlier this month that claimed Cruise himself blocked Kidman from being invited to Connor's upcoming wedding.

"Tom is behind this and what he wants is as good as law," a source told the outlet. "Tom made the call and Connor followed."

"First, Tom would never even consider inviting Nicole to Connor's wedding because she's considered a 'suppressive person' by the church," the insider added. "Second, he doesn't want her there. Tom turned his back on Nicole a long time ago and he's never looked back. Connor worships the ground his father walks on and would never disobey Tom."

Connor and his Italian fiancée reportedly met in Italy, where she used to live with her Scientologist family. Cruise reportedly spent time with his future daughter-in-law during a day at Disney World at the end of 2018.

Meanwhile, it's unclear what kind of contact Kidman has with her children. If, in fact, Kidman is considered a "suppressive person" by Scientology, then they would likely be forbidden to correspond with their mother, who is Catholic and reportedly blames the church for breaking up her family.

The Oscar-winning actress last opened up about her children with Cruise in an interview with Australia's Who magazine back in November 2018.

"I’m very private about [them]," she said at the time. "I have to protect those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is. They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and, as a mother, it’s my job to love them."

"I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe -- that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here," she added. "I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family -- I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love."

Kidman and Cruise split in 2001 after 11 years of marriage. She wed Keith Urban in 2006 and the couple shares two daughters, Sunday, 10, and Faith, 8.

Cruise was married to Katie Holmes from 2006 until 2012, and they share daughter, Suri, who just turned 13. Though he's reportedly permitted to see her 10 days a month, he "chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist" and hasn't seen her in years.
