Meghan Markle 'bothered' by 'public backlash' amid pregnancy: report

Updated

Meghan Markle is finding 2019 to be quite "stressful" already.

With a baby on the way and public opinion totally divided on her, the Duchess of Sussex is "definitely bothered by all the reports and speculation" around her, an insider told Us Weekly.

Though she tries to stay above the gossip and avoids reading the incessant stories about her, "some things are just hard to stay away from," the source added, insinuating that the newly-minted royal can't completely turn a blind eye to all it all.

In the months leading up to the holidays, after revealing that she and husband Prince Harry are expecting their first child together this spring, Meghan was dogged by countless reports of being difficult behind the scenes and an alleged feud between her and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

The pair of duchesses reportedly cleared the air at the Queen's private Christmas celebration, but that has only alleviated some of the pressure that Meghan has been feeling recently.

"Meghan has so much on her plate," another source told Us. "Between being pregnant and dealing with the public backlash, [...] she's finding the whole situation incredibly stressful."

The former "Suits" actress' stress level was surely at an all-time high as she headed to Queen Elizabeth's estate, Sandringham House, in Norfolk, England, for the holidays, where she would be celebrating with an intimate group that included Harry, Kate and Prince William, among others.

After all, the monarch had reportedly "reached her limit" with the alleged feud between Meghan and Kate and "desperately wanted [them] to make up and she got her wish."

The pair reportedly cleared the air over a friendly game of Scrabble, with The Sun reporting that "they were chuckling along together."

During their cordial conversation, both ladies had issues that they wished to bring up to one another in order to fully get past whatever tension had been lingering between them.

"Kate opened up about feeling like Meghan had used her to climb the royal ladder," an insider revealed to Us, adding that Meghan told Kate that "she had felt snubbed" by her as she was finding her footing as a royal throughout the year.

One thing's for certain: Everyone will benefit from Kate and Meghan getting along.
