Kate Middleton felt 'used' by Meghan Markle this past year: report

Did Kate Middleton feel as though she was used by Meghan Markle?

According to Us Weekly, the Duchess of Cambridge expressed as much to the Duchess of Sussex during the Queen's intimate Christmas celebration at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England. The outlet reports that the pair aired out their grievances with one another on Christmas Day and that all is well between them now.

"Kate opened up about feeling like Meghan had used her to climb the royal ladder," an insider revealed, adding that Meghan told Kate that "she had felt snubbed" by her as she was finding her footing as a royal throughout the year.

As uncomfortable as the conversation may have been, it was something they couldn't avoid following months and months of tabloid speculation that the two were feuding behind the scenes amid Harry and Meghan's impending move away from Kensington Palace, where Kate and William live with their three children.

"Being under the same roof meant that they couldn't avoid each other," the source added.

That coupled with the fact that Queen Elizabeth herself "had reached her limit with all the drama" between the two duchesses was enough for them to see past their differences and enjoy each other's company away from media scrutiny.

"They were chuckling along together," a source told The Sun of Meghan and Kate, who reportedly bonded over a friendly game of Scrabble. "You wouldn't know there was any tension between the two. It was a wonderful day and night."

Earlier that day, Meghan and Kate had joined the rest of the royal family at a church service, where they were all smiles as they walked into the church next to one another.
