'Real Housewives of New York' star Carole Radziwill teases move made 'in solidarity' with Luann de Lesseps after arrest

Updated

For the current tenth season of "Real Housewives of New York," star Carole Radziwill had an idea for a way that her cast mates could support Luann de Lesseps, who was arrested last December in Palm Beach.

Radziwill, whose training for last year's New York City Marathon piqued her lasting interest in fitness, had been working out at ConBody, a New York-based fitness studio run by ex-cons who teach prison-style workouts, and she figured it would be a fun way for the ladies to show the Countess that they were thinking of her.

"It was so fun," Radziwill told AOL Entertainment of taking her cast mates to the workout class. "The group is, for the most part, up for anything, and so I brought them there in solidarity with our fellow cast mate Luann, who had spent an overnight in jail in Palm Beach. I had been going there before, but I thought it would be fun to bring the ladies to a prison gym."

During the workout itself, Radziwill's experience showed.

"I did five pull-ups and none of the other women could do a single one," she added with a laugh.

We were speaking with Radziwill at B Floral's "An Enchanting Evening Event," which the former journalist hosted last week. Wearing vintage Moschino picked out by her stylist Andrew Gelwicks and flower accessories made by B Floral, Radziwill lit up the room while mingling with guests in floral dresses and flower crowns posing in front of highly-Instagrammable flower walls. In other words, there were a lot of flowers, which is just how she likes it.

"I have a certain aesthetic and I’ve lived my life in a way where it didn’t matter if I have a nickel or more money," Radziwill explained. "I’ve always had my apartment look a certain way, and flowers were always part of that. When I couldn’t afford to buy anything, I would go to the deli on the corner and buy a bunch of flowers. That’s one thing I care about, is my aesthetic and my style. My style of living -- when I was a college kid with no money, when I was working and now that I can spend a little bit more -- its still the same. I've always had a certain aesthetic and flowers are part of it."

The six-season Housewife continued to explain that her home is the one thing in her life that she'll truly let herself spend a lot of money on, which has always been the case.

"I’m not a big shopper. I’m not someone who buys a lot of clothes, but I will splurge on my house," she explained. "I remember when I first moved to the city, I had $300 in my pocket and I was living in this walkup and it was awful, but I decided I wanted a platform bed, so I built it myself and I made it nice like Dorinda. Sorry, stole your line!"

"I always made my homes nice, and I usually redesign them once every three every five years," she added. "I’m still doing it. It’s never done."

"Real Housewives of New York" airs on Bravo at 9 pm EST on Wednesdays.
