Though the foursome had appeared in public together on Christmas morning while attending church with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Wednesday's event marked the first official royal engagement that all four had attended -- and they looked comfortable, at ease and happy to be together.

Harry opted for a grey suit jacket, black trousers and an unbuttoned white collared shirt, while Meghan looked stunning in a navy Jason Wu wrap dress.

Kate was lovely in a royal blue Seraphine maternity dress, while William looked sleek in a dark ensemble featuring a blazer, sweater, slacks and a tie.

At one point during the event, Meghan and Harry discussed the bond that both couples share, People reports.

"We have different opinions and they work really well [together]," Harry remarked. "Working as family does have its challenges -- of course it does!" he added to laughter.

"The fact that everybody is laughing shows they know exactly what it's like," he went on. "But we are stuck together for the rest of our lives."

"Togetherness at its finest," Meghan chimed in.

Wednesday's event was the first annual Royal Foundation Forum, for a charity organization set up by Will, Kate and Harry (Meghan will become a patron once she marries Harry in May).

"Today we want to celebrate this spirit of togetherness," William said while addressing the crowd. "We want to reflect on what we've achieved. And we want you to work with us as we consider what we might do next."

"The campaign set out to change the national conversation on mental health," Kate said during her address. "We are all so proud of the work we did with our partners; to challenge the stigma which has prevented so many people from speaking openly about their mental wellbeing."

As for Meghan, who wasn't shy about showing her affection for her fiancé as she touched Harry's arm on stage, she remarked that she intends to "hit the ground running" to champion women's issues following her highly-anticipated wedding on May 19.

"I hear a lot of people speaking about girls’ empowerment and women's empowerment you will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices," she said. "I fundamentally disagree with that because women don’t need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen."

"Right now with so many campaigns like MeToo and Time’s Up there’s no better time to continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people supporting them," Meghan added.
