Antonio Banderas hospitalized in London

Antonio Banderas was hospitalized in London after experiencing serious chest pains during a workout last week.

People confirmed the rumors on Monday, though the incident occurred on Jan. 19.

"We can confirm that last Thursday Antonio was admitted to hospital after having experienced chest pain while exercising," his rep said. "However, Antonio was released the same day after doctors performed a check-up which confirmed his good health."

Banderas had been rushed to St. Peter's Hospital in Surrey, England.

The 56-year-old actor seemed to be in good health and good spirits following the scary incident and alluded to the scare in an Instagram selfie with his girlfriend, Nicole Kimpel.

"Enjoying nature after a little fright," he captioned the photo in Spanish. "Enjoying nature after a startle. Kisses."

According to Banderas' IMDB page, he has quite a busy year coming up, with no less than six projects planned for release in 2017.
