"Hidden Figures" stunned by capturing the night's biggest honor, Outstanding Ensemble in a Motion Picture. Denzel Washington also pulled off a major upset by taking home Outstanding Male Actor in a Leading Role for "Fences" over heavy favorite Casey Affleck ("Manchester By The Sea"). Emma Stone ("La La Land"), Viola Davis ("Fences") and Mahershala Ali ("Moonlight") were all expected winners in the other major film categories.

Netflix reigned supreme on the television side, with "Stranger Things" and "The Crown" taking home the night's top awards in those categories.
