Several universities in Philadelphia are on high alert Monday after a threat of violence was posted on the Internet.

The threat was posted to the anonymous message board 4chan and did not mention a specific school, but did mention a time.

The FBI and ATF warned the threats of violence were supposed to happen Monday afternoon at 2:00-- and have been made against an un-named university near Philadelphia.

News of the threat broke on Twitter:



The University of Pennsylvania,Temple University, and Drexel University sent alerts to students — who are heading to campus worried especially in light of recent tragic events.

A Drexel University student told reporters, "With all the things going on, it is scary that could possibly happen on our campus and it scared to leave my dorm tomorrow."

On Sunday one student said, "Maybe it's fake. Maybe it's someone messing around on their computer. At the same time it's scary and I'm not sure if I could go to classes tomorrow."

Another said, "The Oregon thing scared me because my sister lives an hour away from the community college. It's horrifying that that's happening"

All three colleges plan to operate normally with increased security and have asked students to lookout for any suspicious activities.
