Saints Coach Sean Payton Confirms C.J. Spiller Is "100 Percent Healthy," and Says It's on Him to Get Spiller More Work.


The Dallas Cowboys made an improbable comeback on Sunday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints. Not only did Brandon Weeden lead a 90-yard drive to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, but the Saints missed what would have been the game-winning field goal. That sent the game to overtime, but C.J. Spiller wasn't about to let the Saints get the last laugh in the extra period.

On the first play from scrimmage in overtime, Drew Brees hit Spiller on a wheel route down the right sideline and Spiller turned on the jets so that no one was going to catch him:

That's the type of play that Spiller is on this Saints team to make. When he's healthy, he's an explosive playmaker out of the backfield and can break almost any play for a ton of yardage. This one just happened to be in a crucial moment of a crucial game for New Orleans.

Spiller's catch gave the Saints their first victory of the year, something they desperately needed considering the strength of the NFC South through four weeks. Not a bad way to make an 80-yard statement if you're Spiller.
