EXCLUSIVE: Watch the first few minutes of the Morgan Freeman-narrated documentary about cancer, 'The C Word'

It seems as though everyone, at some point in their lives, is affected or touched by cancer. It's a devastatingly present disease that we have not yet cured and that takes many different forms.

Though it doesn't provide a cure for cancer, Virgil Films' "The C Word" is here to offer a message of hope.

Executive-produced and narrated by the legendary Morgan Freeman, the Meghan O'Hara-directed film shines a light on cancer in a new way to get us thinking differently about it. At the end of the day, it seeks to convert its viewers into optimists when it comes to cancer: We can beat it before it beats us, it argues.

In the exclusive clip above, which AOL obtained before the film's Digital HD and DVD release on March 7, you can watch the first few minutes of the documentary to get a taste of what's in store.

Buy or rent the film on iTunes starting Tuesday, March 7.
