Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley shares his favorite tip for staying stress-free

Updated

The Los Angeles Rams of the NFL faced a lot of pressure this season. It was the team's first year back in California after calling St. Louis home for 20 years -- and a major relocation and rebrand is bound to come with some stress.

Despite the challenges of the Rams' first season in Los Angeles, running back Todd Gurley is excited for the future.

Gurley, a young star on the team, sat down to talk with AOL.com to explain how he was able to combat the challenges of the big move, as well as other aspects of his life.

"It's been going great out here," he said of his new home city. "The fans have been good to us all season even though it wasn't the season they wanted or we wanted. We're looking forward to 2017."

According to the University of Georgia alumnus, stress "just comes with the sport" of football, but he has one big trick to help combat it.

"Wearing Gillette Clinical Clear Gel -- it helps you stay cool and calm for the entire day," he said.

Staying stress-free is "a year-round thing" for Gurley, who keeps his morning routine the same even during the offseason.

Gurley, representing Gillette, says the deodorant keeps him "dry and cool on and off the field."

Staying composed during high-stress situations is sure to reap some rewards. It certainly did for Gurley during his rookie season in 2015, when he rushed for 10 touchdowns and over 1,000 yards.

"What I did [as a rookie], that's a proud moment for me," he said. "I was able to take advantage of that situation."

Though the Rams missed the postseason this year, that hasn't stopped Gurley from watching the games and rooting for his friends around the league.

"I support all the other running backs," he said, also adding that "It's all love" whenever he sees players he teamed up with (or against!) while in college, even in the playoffs.

"Seeing your friends playing, it's a good feeling ... You just wait for that day to happen [for yourself]."

Gillette is hosting a sweepstakes to get two lucky fans to Super Bowl LI with free tickets, a free flight, as well as a free hotel and car service once you get to Houston. All of the details can be found on Gillette's Twitter:

"I can't wait. It's going to be a good one," Gurley said about Super Bowl LI, which he will be attending.

The game is expected to be a shootout, with New England's formidable defense (and a man by the name of Tom Brady) taking on the Falcons' explosive offense and MVP-caliber quarterback, Matt Ryan.

Gurley's prediction for the big game?

"Atlanta could win, but you can never go wrong with putting your money down on Tom."
