Trump mocks Booker over suspending his presidential campaign: 'Now I can rest easy tonight'

President Trump took to Twitter to mock Sen. Cory Booker after he announced he was ending his presidential campaign on Monday.

"Really Big Breaking News (Kidding): Booker, who was in zero polling territory, just dropped out of the Democrat Presidential Primary Race," Trump tweeted. "Now I can rest easy tonight. I was sooo concerned that I would someday have to go head to head with him!"

Booker suspended his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination this morning, saying he no longer has a path to victory in the race to challenge Trump.

"I will carry this fight forward — I just won’t be doing it as a candidate for president this year," the New Jersey senator reportedly said in an email to supporters.

Trump has fired off similar insults on Twitter after other Democratic candidates have dropped out of the race. When Sen. Kamala Harris suspended her campaign, Trump sarcastically tweeted, "too bad."
