David Ortiz posts photo of visit from fellow MLB star Edwin Encarnación

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz is doing well and accepting visitors nearly three months after he was shot in the abdomen while at a nightclub in the Dominican Republic.

Ortiz took to Instagram on Thursday to post a photo after spending time with fellow MLB star Edwin Encarnación.

Current MLB free agent José Reyes was also tagged in the post, but isn't seen in the photo.

The baseball icon affectionally referred to Encarnación as "my boy" in the caption he wrote in both English and Spanish.

Ortiz most recently took to the social media platform when he and his wife, Tiffany, dropped their daughter off at college. He was released from the hospital in late July.

Encarnación is currently playing for the New York Yankees, Ortiz's bitter rival from his time with the Red Sox.
