Photos of the week: 10/12 - 10/19

Fallout over the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi captured headlines this week. The prominent Saudi journalist vanished after entering the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul on October 2. Turkish media reportedly obtained audio that indicated Khashoggi was tortured, killed and dismembered inside the consulate. Saudi Arabia later admitted that Khashoggi had died and claimed that he was killed when a fight broke out between him and people who met him in the consulate. President Trump initially defended Saudi Arabia amid the disappearance and said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman "denied any knowledge of what took place."

Other major headlines of the week included the death of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Michael and lottery fever over the massive Mega Millions jackpot.
