President Donald Trump scrapped his unprecedented summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un this week. The meeting was scheduled for June 12 in Singapore. The president reportedly wanted to cancel the meeting because he thought North Korea might beat him to it. The isolated nation responded to the abrupt cancellation by saying they were open to resolving issues with the United States.

Other major headlines of the week included the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Harvey Weinstein turning himself in on sex assault charges and lava from Hawaii's erupting Kilauea volcano edging closer to a power plant.

Click through the slideshow above to see photos from all of these events and more, and be sure to check back next weekend for our selection of the best photography from the week.
