Melania Trump gets back rub from President Trump during Ohio rally remarks

President Trump briefly rubbed his wife's back during her remarks at an Ohio rally on Tuesday night, marking a unique display of public affection for the commander in chief.

The first lady has introduced her husband multiple times -- including at the 2016 Republican National Convention and during the couple's recent trip to Poland -- and again did so during last night's "Make America Great Again" rally in Youngstown, Ohio.

Melania Trump was met with raucous applause by rally attendees, causing the first lady to pause before moving forward with her remarks. As chants of "USA, USA" continued, President Trump moved toward his wife -- offering a back rub, perhaps of encouragement, before she continued speaking.

"You voted for a man who has pledged to renew the American dream," Melania said in addressing the Ohio crowd. "As president, my husband will continue to fight each and every day to ensure our security, defend our livelihoods and rebuild the foundations of fortune that have made the United States the land of opportunity."

Moments of eyebrow-raising body language between the former Slovenian model and 45th president have been a consistent topic of conversation since President Trump assumed his White House role. From Melania's slapping her husband's hand away on a Tel Aviv tarmac, to reports from earlier this year that the first lady refused to share a bed with President Trump -- the current first couple's relationship continues to be one of intrigue.

The first lady spoke proudly of her husband's work in the White House, going after his opponents for fighting against him.

"Washington has fought him every step of the way," Melania said. "But I know my husband and he will never give up."

Melania Trump later tweeted after leaving the Ohio event:

"Thank you #Ohio!" the first lady wrote. "Great mtg American heroes at AMVETS Post 44 event & thanks to all who came out to support @POTUS at rally!"
