Updated

The 2017 Stanley Cup Finals kicks off on Monday and is bound to be a thrilling series between reigning champion Pittsburgh Penguins and the Nashville Predators.

The Penguins solidified their Finals spot when they defeated the Ottowa Senators 3-2 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. In double overtime, Chris Kunitz scored his second goal of the game -- positioning the Penguins to battle on the ice for what would be their fifth Stanley Cup win in franchise history.

While Sidney Crosby and the Penguins dominantly enter the Finals as a force to be reckoned with, the Predators are the Cinderella story of the season. Entering the playoffs as an 8 seed, the likes of Mike Fisher, Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson have led their team to a stellar performance as they ready for the Finals.

Where the NBA Finals odds were set with a wider gap between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, oddsmakers predict a closer series between the Predators and Penguins. The Penguins are set at -155 with a 60 percent chance at taking the Cup, where the Predators are at +135 with a 42 percent shot at victory.
