2017 NBA Finals: Betting sites set staggeringly high odds for Golden State over Cleveland

The 2017 NBA Finals matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers that fans waited all year for is officially set in stone -- and one powerhouse squad is favored to take the series.

LeBron James and the Cavaliers sealed their Finals fate on Thursday night when they ousted the Boston Celtics 135-102 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals series.

According to Westgate Las Vegas, the Warriors enter the series as the clear favorites. The booking site positions the Warriors at -240 and the Cavaliers at +200. In other words, Steph Curry and his California crew have a 70 percent chance of taking the series, while LeBron James has a 33.3 percent chance at nabbing his fourth championship.

These odds aren't necessarily surprising -- the Warriors also entered both the regular season and playoffs as odds favorites. With the likes of Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Steph Curry dominating for the Warriors, Cleveland certainly has a tough series ahead of them.

The gap in odds between the two teams was likely influenced by the recent Eastern Conference Finals Game 2 loss to the Boston Celtics. Still, though, the Cavaliers have dominated all year, ending the regular season with a 51-31 record. The court presence of Cavaliers like Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert give LeBron's team the depth they need to compete in the Finals.
