April the giraffe's baby's name revealed to be Tajiri
April the giraffe became a viral sensation last month as the world held its breath waiting for her to give birth.
On Apil 15, her bundle of joy was born -- and now he has a name!
After several days of voting, the Animal Adventure Park in New York revealed the baby's name to be Tajiri. According to NBC4, while votes were cast it came down to Allysa, the calf's keeper, to make the final decision. Allysa chose "Tajiri," meaning "hope" in Swahili.
The park shared the news on Facebook:
