Inauguration photo of Barron Trump wins award, reignites 'off limits' debate

It has generally been agreed that Barron Trump is off-limits in regards to discussions of President Trump, politics and the first family.

The topic, however, is again at the forefront due to an award that was given to a photo of the 10-year-old, looking out the car window while sharing a ride with the president on the inauguration day.

The White House News Photographers Association recently named it the winning photograph in the inauguration category.

That designation prompted the site 'Reading The Pictures' to ask, "...given the media blackout on children of the president, how far can we go in analyzing this now acclaimed piece of journalism? To what extent is it respectful (or safe) to tease out the meaning, power and symbolism of the prized scene?"

Notably, the photograph has in no way been kept out of public view, and, as such, has been subject to such analysis since the day it was taken, award or not.
