10 best family-friendly Halloween movies to watch this Oct. 31st

Even though Halloween is just about a week away, we've basically dedicated the whole month of October to the holiday. With our decorations set up, our costumes selected and the final menu decided, we've been counting down the days until fright night since September 1st! 

So to get into the holiday spirit, (yes, pun intended!), we've rounded up some of our favorite family-friendly Halloween movies. Curl up with one of these ghost brownies and press play on these iconic (and for the most part, throwback) films.  

Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, this 1993 film is a Halloween classic.  
This Tim Burton film from 2012 follows the story of a boy, Victor, and his dog, Sparky -- all in black and white! 
Also by Tim Burton, this iconic film stars Alec Baldwin, Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara in a whimsical (and at times, freaky) adventure about the dead's relationship with the living.  
Chances are, if you're not dressing like the Addams Family, you might as well be watching them on the small screen. 
This Disney Channel Original Movie, with Caroline Rhea, is a family favorite to this day! 
This 1966 cartoon special should definitely be on your list.  
Another Disney Channel Original Movie, Halloweentown stars Debbie Reynolds as a cooky grandmother with special powers. 
The third Tim Burton film to make our list, this 2005 fantasy stop-motion film is quite an experience. 
There's no way we could forget about this Spielberg classic.
