The prettiest Emmy Awards red carpet dresses of all time

On Sunday night, the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

While we can expect a fun night full of sweet acceptance speeches and cute cast photo-ops, we are most looking forward to seeing all of the stunning red carpet looks! From sparkling gowns to sexy jumpsuits and everything in between, the Emmys red carpet always brings us some memorable fashion moments.

Even though we still have a few hours to go until the main event begins, we are looking back on the best Emmys dresses of all time. Scroll through the gallery below for 40 of our favorite dresses to walk the carpet!

How could we forget the ballerina pink dress that Jennifer Aniston wore in 2002 when she won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for "Friends?" Or Blake Lively's plunging red Versace dress that she paired with an intricate ponytail?

A few other of our favorite standout gowns include Kerry Washington's silver sequined dress from Marc Jacobs in 2015, Sarah Paulson's glittering green Prada dress from 2016 and the red a-line dress that Nicole Kidman wore at last year's awards when she won big for "Big Little Lies." While we love seeing new styles come down the runway, there is nothing like red carpet fashion.
