Emmy Awards 2002 throwback: Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt highlighted the red carpet from another era

Updated

In honor of the 2017 Emmy Awards this Sunday, Sept. 17, we're looking back at some of the most notable Emmys ceremonies from years past. And, 15 years ago, Hollywood was certainly a different place.

Back in 2002, "Will & Grace," "Friends" and "Sex and the City" were still on the air, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were still married and Ellen DeGeneres had not yet found the love of her life, Portia de Rossi.

On the red carpet, Pitt and Aniston looked happy as ever, with Aniston rocking a now-famous sparkling pink dress and beachy waves that were totally on-trend, while Pitt rocked an oversized brown suit, tinted shades and a grown-out hairdo that featured some ill-advised bangs.

See all of the red carpet looks from the 2002 Emmy Awards:

Debra Messing was a total babe in a long-sleeved brown dress that featured a plunging neckline, while her "Will & Grace" costar Megan Mullally opted for a Clinton-esque pantsuit.

The "Sex and the City" cast were definite red carpet highlights, too: Kim Cattrall was a knockout in a flesh-colored dress that accentuated her fit physique, while Cynthia Nixon was red-hot in a strapless dress that with a thigh-high slit.

One of the biggest transformations from 15 years ago was definitely talk-show host Oprah Winfrey, who looked thin as ever in a glamorous pale yellow ballgown. Though Winfrey is now healthy as ever in 2017, between now and then she admittedly struggled to stay in shape.

The 2002 Emmys red carpet featured a ton of good and bad looks, but we've also rounded up some of our favorite Emmys looks of all time. Check those out below:
