Met Gala 2019: The top beauty trends of the night

Although the Camp theme for this year's Met Gala seemed to be up for interpretation, at the very least, stars were expected to turn out large, over-the-top looks. Luckily, many stars did not disappoint! But while some only went big with their clothing, others turned things up through hair and makeup.

Lady Gaga kicked off the night with a nearly 15-minute performance of her posing as she changed into four different outfits, but aside from that, we couldn't help notice her long doll-like gold eyelashes. Gigi Hadid followed suit with fluffy white eyelashes that coordinated with her all-sequin jumpsuit, coat and headpiece.

Some stars stunned in pastel hair colors—Kylie Jenner went with purple, Laverne Cox sported teal and Nicki Minaj modeled light pink. Other stars like Lizzo and Charli XCX turned up the pigment with a bolder hot pink shade.

The most popular beauty trend of the night, however, had to be the statement-making ponytail. Tessa Thompson used tape to turn hers into a floor-length whip! Ashley Graham elevated her blazer by Dapper Dan and decorated her long low pony with bejeweled clips and bows.

“We were inspired by the '70s and wanted something that felt masculine in the front to go with her androgynous suit, but that felt over the top on the back," TRESemmé hair stylist Justine Marjan said about working with Graham on her look.
