Met Gala 2019: Red carpet arrivals

And the 2019 Met Gala is finally here!

Since 2004, the first Monday in May has been dedicated to raising money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute through a celebrity-studded fundraiser and exhibit. Deemed "the Oscars of Fashion," the Anna Wintour-run soirée expects a high fashion turnout, complete with top models, athletes, stars and designers for its annual event, complete with the most extravagant and unique getups.

This year's theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion," will be no exception. Hosted by Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams and Gucci's Alessandro Michele, it seems that this year's event is already off to an eccentric start.

Vogue queen Anna Wintour took the red carpet in a Chanel look made out of 3 million feathers, as Lady Gaga ditched her hot pink poncho for a black strapless gown by Brandon Maxwell and two other looks. Gaga's co-host also Serena Williams stole the show in a yellow Versace creation and Nikes.
