61 egg recipes you can eat at any time of the day

Eggs have a reputation for being a breakfast staple, but why? Turns out, back in the 1800s when breakfast as a mealtime was really taking off (and thank goodness it did!), it was reserved for workers and children, aka those who needed protein, fat and a cheap source of fuel. So, eggs were the answer.

But today, eggs are for everyone! They're one of the easiest and cheapest foods to make, and also one of the most versatile. You can eat them plain, bake them in tomato sauce, smother them with cheese, mix them with veggies, squeeze them in a sandwich, lay them over crab cakes or serve them on pizza.
