7 crazy, over-the-top light displays to get you in the holiday spirit

There is nothing like twinkling lights to mark the beginning of the holiday season. Though it may cause frustration for some, others see the decking out of their houses and streets a chance to show off their creativity. Which is why some of the craziest light displays are actually making headlines this holiday season.

You actually have to travel outside NYC to Dyker Heights, Brooklyn to see what the Travel Channel has dubbed the 'best light display in the world." A group of truly devoted Christmas fans have perfected and combined their Christmas displays to create a 3 ½ hour interactive experience that is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

97 Christmas trees and 21,500 lights make up the festive display at the Churchill Arms in Kensington, London.

Featured on HGTV and The Today Show, the Oakdale Christmas House in St. Pete showcases 12 truckloads of lights, model trains and railroads, inflatables, water fountains and much more.

As a tribute to his late wife, Scottish Santa David Brown puts on a massive light display. This year over 3,000 lights contributed to the decked out home.

A few years ago Christmas light enthusiasts discovered the wonder of synching their lights to songs in hopes of taking displays to the next level. This year, the one that everyone is talking about was created by a U.K. family with lights programmed to “Baby Shark.” All for a good cause.

Tampa Bay’s Hillsborough County Fairgrounds not only boasts over 100 holiday light shows that you can drive through but there is also a Santa’s Village, horse-drawn carriages, and a petting zoo.

Almost every city has a Christmas tree lighting worth noting, but this English couple takes the cake with their gargantuan 52 foot Christmas tree, which has been lighting up the sky for the last 40 years.
