Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announce they are expecting their first child!

Congratulations are in order for the royal family!

On Monday, Kensington Palace announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child. The news comes after months of speculation as to when the couple, who married back in May at Windsor Castle, will begin building a family of their own.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," the palace tweeted.

This will be the 8th great grandchild for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who most recently welcomed the birth of Lena Elizabeth Tindall on June 18th. Her mother Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne, the queen's daughter and second eldest child.

Harry and Meghan have quite been vocal about their desire to have children, with an insider deeming that having kids soon "is a top priority" for the couple. And given Meghan's growing relationship with sister-in-law Kate Middleton, and how close Prince William and Harry are, we know that the cousins will be close! The families only live a stone's throw away from each other in Kensington Palace, after all.

Congrats to the happy couple!
