NYFW: Ralph Lauren takes over Central Park for its 50th Anniversary collection

Updated

Central Park's Bethesda Terrace was transformed on Friday night as celebrities and fashion royalty came together to celebrate Ralph Lauren's 50th Anniversary as part of New York Fashion Week.

For the first time ever, iconic designer Ralph Lauren brought together all of his collections -- women’s, men’s Double RL, and men’s, women’s and children’s Polo Ralph Lauren -- for one spectacular trip down the runway. Worn by a large cast of diverse models of all ages, including famous faces like Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber, the collections were separated into luxury and polo segments.

In a press release, Mr. Lauren explained, "For my 50th anniversary, I wanted to create and share a runway experience that was deeply personal and a summation of the style I’ve always believed in: personal, authentic, and forever,
in a place so quintessentially New York and so special to me—Central Park."

The collection showcased the best of Ralph Lauren. Timeless jackets and trousers were paired with casual knits, sequins and stripes, while patchwork designs and textures like velvet and corduroy were in abundance. Expectedly, the vibe was elevated, yet unfussy, Americana.

Guests that attended the elaborate night of festivities, which also included a dinner and video installation, included the likes of Hillary Rodham Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Kanye West, Steven Spielberg, Diane von Furstenberg, Martha Stewart and Alexander Wang.
