Dolce & Gabbana's Stefano Gabbana calls Selena Gomez "ugly"

Updated

Stefano Gabbana, one half of the luxury designer duo Dolce & Gabbana, is no stranger to controversy.

When dressing Melania Trump for her official White House portrait, Gabbana lashed out at critics on Instagram, telling them to "go to hell." He fat-shamed those who criticized his shoes that spelt out "thin & gorgeous" -- and most recently, in the wake of the #MeToo movement, Gabbana found himself under fire for claiming sexual harassment is "not violence."

The Italian creative regularly lands himself in hot water for his comments: it's a place he's found himself, yet again, for his recent comments on Selena Gomez.

Gabbana recently commented on the fashion account The Catwalk Italia's Instagram of the pop-star, which showed a collage of her red carpet appearances in red. "È proprio brutta!!!," Gabbana wrote, which translates to "She’s so ugly!!!”.

Fans quickly came to Gomez's defense, calling Gabbana's comments "disgusting."

"Really? You are the co-founder and designer of Dolce & Gabbana... you should find beauty in every woman. This is so sad..." wrote one user. Wrote another, "Selena is always wearing your brand and I’m sure that will be the last time. You disgust me."

Selena has been frequently spotted in Dolce & Gabbana creations, though we can't say she'll be seen in their designs in the near future.
