Met Gala 2018: The most outrageous headpieces

This year's Met Gala theme was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," and the ball's famous red carpet did not disappoint. From Sarah Jessica Parker dripping in gold to very creative makeup looks to Katy Perry showing up in massive angel wings, there was a show stopping outfit everywhere you looked.

But the one accessory that we saw on just about everyone throughout the night was some sort of decorative headpiece.

While crowns and halos were definitely in the majority, we also saw extravagant veils (looking at you, Kate Bosworth) as well as delicate headbands.

Our favorite headpieces of the night included Rita Ora's black floral headpiece, Lily Collins' modern take on a halo and Blake Lively's angelic gold headpiece. And what would the Met Gala have been without Rihanna really going all out for the theme and arriving in a very Pope-inspired ensemble completed with an ornate mitre?

See all of the most memorable headpieces from this year's Met Gala in the gallery above, and rock your own version of a fun headpiece with a few of our favorite headbands below!
