Joanna Gaines releases new cookbook 'Magnolia Table' -- and it's everything we've ever dreamed of

They just wrapped up five seasons of a hit HGTV show, run a successful home decor line and business flipping houses, recently opened up a new restaurant and are expecting baby number five in just a few months. Seriously, is there anything the Gaines family can't do?

Let's add writing a cookbook to that mix.

On Tuesday, Joanna released her first book of recipes, called Magnolia Table, to HGTV fanatics -- it seemed like a natural fit for the Waco, Texas mom given her previous ventures.  "I've just become so passionate about being in the kitchen," Joanna explained to AOL Lifestyle. "I love cooking, so we just felt like it was the perfect timing."

Though Joanna wasn't always the biggest cook, as her family grew, she realized that it was much easier to eat at home than it was to eat out. "As my kids got older, and I had four of them, it was just easier to cook at home," she maintained. "I think that's when I started to develop a love for cooking."

The older her children-- Emmy, Ella, Drake and Duke -- got, the more they came to "appreciate" a homecooked meal, so Chip and Joanna had to learn the best ways to cook for a family of six (soon to be seven!), while streamlining busy weeknight meals and school lunches.

On playtime...

"It didn’t take long after we became parents that I realized Chip was always going to be “The Fun Dad”. As I said before, Chip has a childlike way about him! He always has. At work, things are 100% about work, but as soon as he gets home, it’s phones up and playtime is on," Jo said about her husband in a Magnolia blog post in June 2016.

On dating...

“I want my kids to date, I want them to go out. I just remember great experiences as a kid, you know? Driving your car for the first time, picking up a young lady on a date for the first time. All those were little milestones to some extent,” Chip said to People in December 2016

On cellphones...

"I don’t even know what’s gonna happen when the girls start asking to wear makeup, but we keep telling our kids they don’t get a phone until they go off to college,” Joanna explained to People in 2016.

On technology...

The Gaines family don't own a television. "They’re so young and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood," Joanna said, according to People in October 2016.

"So they don’t really understand that we have a show."

“Our first year of marriage, we had a fun couple that was our pre-marital counselors and they said, ‘Hey, we want to challenge y’all for the first six months of marriage, don’t do a TV. Then, six months later we looked at each other and said, ‘How about another six months?’ And it just became one of those things where, 12 years later, we still don’t own one,” they said, according to Glamour.

"That’s where he kinda gets a little strict. It’s, ‘You go play outside'", Jo said about Chip to People

On being present...

Joanna wrote about Chip in a 2016 blog post: "Whatever they’re passionate about, he’s right there at their side, encouraging them to follow their dreams. With our boys, it’s baseball. With our girls, it’s trips to the bookstore. Just the other day, the girls came home beaming from a daddy daughter date to the bookstore. They felt so loved and had so much fun just hanging out with dad. It’s the little things like this that make Chip a great dad,

On being a working mom...

"I explain that I have to work just like they have to go to school. I also let them know what I’m doing at work that day—whether it’s filming the show or going into the office—and what time I’ll be home. Taking a  few seconds to let them in on this other huge part of my life has really helped them understand that mom and dad have a big job to do," Jo wrote in a blog post in April 2016

On the little things...

Jo said in April 2016 on her Magnolia blog, "I have had to find creative ways to connect with the kids during the day now that I work, to let them know I am always thinking of them. I’ll send them a little note in their lunchbox or surprise them and pick them up early from school for a fun date."

On letting kids be kids...

"I tell the kids that you are probably not going to get a cell phone. We want to teach our kids that life happens outside of these devices. It's just a simple thing to go outside and connect with nature, play with your friends and get dirty," they said to Entertainment Tonight

"For me, the key is planning ahead. I used to wing it!" she explained. "I take Sunday nights, whether it be just 20 to 30 minutes, to meal plan for dinners and then have these things for lunches. Food and cooking can be stressful, so to alleviate that, so the biggest things are planning ahead and having your lists."

One dish that's guaranteed to make it on the Gaines dinner table? Chicken and dumplings, a family favorite that Joanna includes in her cookbook.

Plus, Joanna makes sure to end those dinners on a sweet note. "I always have to end my meal with at least a bite of chocolate cake," she said of her sweet tooth. As for unusual pregnancy cravings, you might find a few boxes of sugary "kid's cereal" in Jo's pantry!

Table for 7, please!
