French first lady Brigitte Macron commands attention in thigh-skimming red frock in Salzburg

The thigh's the limit for French first lady Brigitte Macron!

It's clear that Macron commands attention wherever she goes, and her latest public appearance in Salzburg is no exception. French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife were greeted by Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern and his wife at the Salzburg airport on Wednesday on official government business.

Naturally, the 64-year-old beauty stole the show in a thigh-skimming red frock with a hem-to-neckline zipper. She paired the look with pointy pumps, a black blazer and some oversized sunnies. There's no denying that the first lady looked absolutely flawless walking off the plane.

Macron has garnered criticism in the past for her thigh-skimming ensembles, and she candidly addressed the issue of her skirt lengths in the latest issue of French Elle.

"I wear above-the-knee, not minis! Although I loved to wear minis when I was younger, we would hide them in our bags when we went out ... and we'd slip bloomers on underneath to dance to rock 'n' roll," Macron said. "We went from very short to very long -- that was until my grandmother spotted me in one and exclaimed, "My goodness, you look like a frumpy old granny.' Never again!"

Macron was also asked if she ever gets annoyed with people talking about her clothes -- and she had the perfect answer: "Why not, if it does some good for the French fashion industry. I'm really into fashion, and there's this fascination the world over around this idea of the French woman."

Macron has often been compared to U.S. first lady Melania Trump due to their impeccable sense of style. Both Macron and Trump wore blue for their husband's inaugurations earlier this year ... and the reason will surprise you.

Both couples met earlier this summer -- and they had the most awkward four-way handshake. More on that in the video above.
