Best and worst dressed at the 2017 CFDA Awards

When the Council of Fashion Designers of America brings together American designers, celebrities and fashion influencers to celebrate their own, you know it's going to be a memorable night.

The evening's red carpet was filled with fascinating silhouettes, style statements and some seriously gorgeous gowns. There were colors that dominated and beauty looks that took our breath away. But let's get straight to the fashion, shall we?

We obsessed over Victoria's Secret Angel Sara Sampaio's cobalt blue J.Mendel gown and Kate Bosworth's lemony Brock Collection frock, but others left us wanting more.

Because while there are always style hits, there are also a few misses. On this particular carpet, for example, Gigi Hadid was drowning in too much fabric and Amanda Peet's dress was far from flattering.
