Emily Skye reveals the one item she can't leave home without

It's not easy to stick to a routine when it comes to working out. Luckily, there are people like Emily Skye out there to give us all a helping hand.

Skye first started on her fitness journey after dealing with depression in her teens and early twenties. After kicking off a habit of healthy eating and gym workouts, she noticed a big difference in her attitude and emotional state.

That's how Skye began to build her full-fledged fitness brand on the Internet -- from her website, to an app, to YouTube videos and more, it's hard to miss Skye's videos when you're looking for a helpful workout.

We had the chance to chat with Skye about her inspiration, social media strategy and more. Check out those articles here and here.

What's one thing you never leave the house without?

My lip balm! I have a tinted one and it's amazing -- it gives a little bit of color and keeps my lips from getting dry.

What's your favorite thing about working out?

How it makes me feel. I go to the gym and I might be having a bad day, or I might be feeling down, but after I've trained -- even though I might be exhausted. I can think clearer, and I just feel amazing and full of energy.

What's your go-to exercise move?

I've got to pick three! A squat, a lunge or a deadlift. I lift heavy weights, but you have to pick a weight that's right for you. A lot of people ask me what weight I'm lifting. It's not about what I'm doing or what anyone else is doing, you have to focus on yourself and what's right for you, and getting your form right because that's number 1.

What's your go-to coffee or tea drink?

I love both, when I have coffee I either have an almond latte or a coconut latte. I have a really good coffee machine at home, and I'm loving it. Teas -- I love all herbal teas. I don't really like green tea, to be honest, it makes my tummy feel a little funny. But I love peppermint teas, lemongrass, ginger, lemon tea -- all of those herbal teas that help with your tummy and digestion.
