Miley Cyrus continued to make headlines in the weeks since her split from Kaitlynn Carter this week, with TMZ obtaining footage of the singer seemingly sharing a kiss with Australian singer Cody Simpson.

In a clip taken at Backyard Bowls in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 3, Cyrus, 26, and Simpson, 22, are seated together in the back of the restaurant and are visibly getting cozy with one another. The outlet reports that they were "having a pretty serious conversation before Miley moved over to sit on his lap." An eyewitness added that "their PDA escalated to a make-out session."

E! News also reported the sighting, with an onlooker telling the outlet that Cyrus and Simpson simply shared a "quick kiss" before they "noticed people seeing them, so they tried to rush out of there."

Cyrus and Simpson have been friends for years, with the Australian shooting down rumors that they were dating in 2014. Speculation that their friendship had become something more spiked when the "Wrecking Ball" singer was on a break from her then-former fiancé, Liam Hemsworth.

Of course, Cyrus and Hemsworth would go on to not only reconcile but also get married in December 2018, before announcing their separation this past August, when Cyrus was first linked to Carter.

Simpson first rose to prominence when he dated then-up-and-coming model Gigi Hadid for two years, before she started dating One Direction member Zayn Malik.

Miley Cyrus' latest sighting comes a day after she teased on Instagram that she had "met a couple new potential partners" during a Halloween outing to a haunted house.

Insiders say that she's "doesn't plan to remarry anytime soon" and "loves her autonomy" without being tied down with anyone right now.
