Lindsie Chrisley shades estranged family as they visit hospitalized brother: 'Flexing that sympathy card'

Updated

The Chrisley family drama continues.

Todd Chrisley took to Instagram on Wednesday to share his first family photo since he and his wife, Julie, were indicted for various financial crimes earlier this month, and it's sparking more controversy.

The photo appears to show the "Chrisley Knows Best" patriarch and his family, including daughter, Savanah, sons Chase and Grayson and his mom, Faye, gathering around a hospital bed with formally-estranged son, Kyle, lying on it in a hospital gown.

"NOT TODAY SATAN, NOT TODAY," he captioned the smile-filled photo. "God shows up and shows out, now won't he do it?"

A Chrisley family spokesperson explained Kyle's hospitalization in a statement to E! News, explaining that "he had an adverse reaction to his medication, but as you can see from the photo his father posted on Instagram, he is doing great."

Their attorney added that "Kyle was admitted to the hospital yesterday, but he is expected to make a full recovery."

Notably absent from the family photo, of course, was Todd's estranged oldest daughter, Lindsie. After he posted the photo, she took to Twitter to share her thoughts on it, though: "Gah, flexing that sympathy card so hard. Keep reaching boo," she tweeted.

Lindsie's followers appeared to agree with her assessment of her father's timing in posting a family picture from a hospital.

"Your dad's like a 4 year old girl seeking attention from everyone," one person responded. "It's so good to see his guilt playing out before us."

"Never made a post about Kyle until, of all times, now," another person replied. "Not obvious at all....Their social media is at an all time high of fakeness."

Another follower said that "this whole thing is so fake and pathetic on their part. You are so much better than their pettiness. You and that sweet boy of yours is better off without them."

A subsequent response said that her father, Todd, "should be nailed to the cross for doing what is being reported on TV/news that he’s doing to" his daughter.

For context, Lindsie reportedly filed a police report last month alleging that her brother, Chase, had purchased footage of her allegedly sleeping with "Bachelorette" star Robby Hayes and that Chase and Todd were threatening to release the tape unless she lied in a testimony related to their family's tax troubles.

In the last several weeks, the family has gotten into a bitter war of words, with Todd revealing to the public the identity of her sex tape partner.

All of this has been happening, of course, amid Todd and Julie's financial woes. The couple pleaded not guilty after being indicted on 12 counts of financial crimes, including tax evasion. They were released on a $100,000 bond.

For his part, before he was seemingly hospitalized, Kyle took to Facebook to defend his family and demonize his estranged older sister.

"I'm telling you now, with a clear mind, my mom and dad have done nothing wrong! Today, I am sober. I am working, and I am at a good place in my life," he wrote. "I will continue to stand as a united front alongside my mom, my dad and the rest of my family. My hope is that my sister Lindsie will seek the same forgiveness from my daddy as I have, that he is able to forgive her and that my family will one day be whole again."

In reaction to her father's statements about her alleged extramarital affairs (he also named "Bachelorette" winner Josh Murray as one of her lovers), Lindsie's lawyer released a statement on her behalf.

"Lindsie would like nothing more than to be left alone and go about her own business," it said. "Unfortunately, certain members of her family will not let her live in peace. We are flabbergasted at the audacity of Todd and Chase Chrisley, who are more focused on attacking my client rather than defending themselves against the allegations of criminal conduct. … Lindsie prays for a just outcome so that she can go forward with her life safe from those who are looking to do her harm."

While Murray denied having an affair with Lindsie, Hayes confirmed that footage exists of his hookup with Lindsie, but said that there was "no content from either end" about it existing in the first place, as it was caught on a security camera of sorts. He said that they're "in the middle of dealing with it."

"We did not make a sex tape...I’m not sitting there with a camera aimed down and trying to get the angles," he said on a podcast. "Like, we got caught on the security camera, basically. It was a puppy camera in her friend’s living room, the couch we crashed on."
