Prince Harry was almost set up with a former first daughter: Why didn't it happen?

Jenna Bush Hager once tried to set Prince Harry up with her twin sister, Barbara, and she has an unlikely theory as to why it didn't ultimately pan out.

The "Today" show co-host interviewed the British royal back in 2016 to discuss the 2016 Invictus Games and, at the time, he hadn't started dating Meghan Markle yet. While discussing sunglasses of all things on Friday's episode of the "Today" show, Bush Hager opened up about that interview (which you can watch at the top of the page) and trying to set Harry and Barbara up.

"He has really beautiful light eyes, which are sensitive to the sun. I know because my daughters have light eyes," she said of the interview, which took place outside. "Prince Harry was like, 'We have to wear sunglasses, don't you think?' I was like, 'Well, if he says it's okay!'"

The television personality expressed regret over their decision to wear shades during their interview, calling the accessories a "barrier between us," per People, and blaming them for why her efforts to bait him into dating her twin didn't work.

"I felt like maybe if he could see straight into my eyes," she laughed. "That could have worked if my sunglasses weren’t blocking."

"He said, 'Let's talk later,'" she added. "Then he got married to Meghan Markle."

While Barbara is also now married (she wed screenwriter Craig Coyne last October), her "Today" show personality sister used her big moment with Harry to advocate for her then-single twin.

"I have a single sister, and she feels the same way. Listen, she’s available. She’s going to kill me," she said during the interview.

"We can talk maybe off air," Harry responded, before Jenna said that she'd give him Barbara's number.

Sounds like both Prince Harry and Barbara Bush found who they were looking for.
