Britney Spears hits first red carpet in over a year in debut with boyfriend Sam Asghari

Once upon a time in Hollywood ... there was a red carpet debut!

Britney Spears and her boyfriend Sam Asghari hit their first red carpet together on Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of Quentin Tarantino's latest film, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," which hits theaters on Friday, July 26.

The 37-year-old "Toxic" hitmaker opted for a red, strapless dress that she paired with chunky black heels and a silver choker necklace. She wore her hair up in a ponytail and sported her signature smokey eye makeup. Spears also sparked engagement rumors by wearing a massive diamond ring on that finger.

Asghari, meanwhile, looked dapper in a cream-colored suit that he paired with a white shirt and matching black tie and shoes. The adorable couple was all smiles as they posed for photographers during their red carpet debut, even sharing a romantic smooch, too!

The outing, which Spears commemorated on Instagram with a pair of photos taken before the event ("Our first premiere," she captioned the post), marked the singer's first red carpet outing in over a year. Amid a series of personal and professional woes, Spears has shied away from the public eye, with her last red carpet event coming in April 2018 at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards.

Asghari and Spears started dating after the model, who is 12 years Spears' junior, appeared in her "Slumber Party" music video in the fall of 2016. Since then, he's been by her side and often appears in her Instagram and paparazzi photos.

Spears' outing is particularly notable in that it comes after months of speculation that she was being held against her will by her father, Jamie Spears, who is her co-conservator and handles her legal and financial affairs. The singer has routinely denied such allegations, however, as she has continued to become more active again on Instagram in an effort to assure fans that everything is okay.

Judging by her outing on Monday night at the "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" premiere, Britney seems to be happy, healthy and loving life with her boyfriend.
