Simon Cowell sheds 20 pounds: See his trimmed down physique!

Simon Cowell has lost "about 20 pounds," and he has his newfound vegan diet to thank for it.

The "America's Got Talent" judge recently appeared on "Extra," where ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour interviewed him about the upcoming season of the NBC competition show, which boasts two new judges in Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough.

The conversation turned to the fact that Cowell turns 60 in October, and he reflected on going vegan, which was a change that allowed him to lose 20 pounds, leaving him feeling "much better."

Cowell's diet change came after he fell down the stairs at his home in October 2017, which he would later reveal happened after he fainted because of low blood pressure.

"Sometimes we get a reminder that we’re not invincible and this was certainly mine. It was a huge shock. They think I fainted because I had low blood pressure and so I have got to really take good care of myself to sort that out," Cowell told The Sun. "After all, I am a dad and have more responsibility than ever."

Cowell shares son, Eric, 5, with longtime girlfriend, Lauren Silverman.

This spring, in a new interview with The Sun, the former "American Idol" judge joked that his appearance has drastically improved since he cut out meat, dairy, wheat, sugar and fish.

"If I was on a one to ten scale of being handsome, I was an eight and now I’ve gone to an 11," he joked.

"Within 24 hours I changed my diet and I’ve not looked back since. You feel better, you look better," he went on. "I cut out a lot of the stuff I shouldn’t have been eating and that was primarily meat, dairy, wheat, sugar -- those were the four main things."

"America's Got Talent" returns to NBC on Tuesday, May 28.
